TV Tuners
Hi, I've an old system (circa 1999) that has been updated over the years and still gives reasonably good service for a number of tasks. I was thinking of using it as a headless system (ie no monitor) to record TV programs. However most of the tuner cards I've looked at need a processor of at least 1.6 GHz... more »

RAID 5 or RAID 10 On A NAS?
I have a Buffalo Terror Station on order containing 4 x 1 TB drives. It will be the backup of last resort and, if there's time, the thing I will tuck under my left arm (dog will be under right arm) if I have to jump out the window due to fire or flood. RAID5 will give me 3 TB usable and I know from experience of my previous... more »

Passive 2.0 speakers
Looking for some reasonable 2.0 speakers. Decided to stick with a 2.0 setup as the 2.1 kit from Logitech I had been using was a stupid design. The base unit produced so much boomy base that I had to have it permanently turned down low. I don't need a huge amount of sound volume so passive speakers seems a... more »
